Green Plate Foods needs your votes!

Our President and Founder, Lisa Pounds, has been nominated as an expert panelist for SXSWedu focusing on healthy lunches in school cafeterias and the benefits of eating right for students, but we need your help to secure a spot at the conference! SXSWedu would be an amazing opportunity to share our mission with thousands of education industry experts, influencers and game changers in an attempt to continue bringing healthier options to students across the country.

Our panel, “The Cafeteria Conundrum: How Healthy is Helping,” is made up of passionate experts in healthy eating, living and school policy, featuring our own Lisa Pounds, Bettina Siegel of The Lunch Tray, nutritionist Marissa Lippert with Nourish Kitchen Table, and Dallas Morning News fitness and lifestyle writer, Leslie Barker.

Lunch Bento Boxes

Why not switch up your child's lunchbox this school year? We've come up with 5 bento boxes to make lunch more fun!

  • Box 1
“Ants on a Log” – celery sticks filled with almond butter and topped with raisins
Turkey, apple slice and cheese roll-ups
Berry Medley



  • Box 2
PB&J Cutouts: PB&J sandwich cut into small round shapes using a cookie cutter, whole grain bread and almond butter
Melon balls



  • Box 3
Greek yogurt chicken salad with crackers
Broccoli and purple cauliflower tops
Kiwi and raspberry flowers

Cucumber, carrot and avocado spring rolls
Oranges and strawberries
Cheese cubes & pretzels

Cucumber and GPF hummus sandwiches – cut out in fun shapes using cookie cutters, with whole grain bread
